Understanding Traffic Light Sensors
There are several types of sensors used in modern traffic light systems. The most common are inductive loop sensors, embedded in the pavement to detect vehicles through changes in inductance. Video cameras mounted on traffic lights can also serve as sensors, interpreting visual signals to identify approaching vehicles.
