Tragically, Sofia was trapped in her room. Despite her family’s desperate attempts to save her, the blaze had already consumed the stairwell and surrounding areas. A neighbor eventually arrived with a ladder and helped rescue the mother, father, and son from a window — but it was already too late to reach Sofia. Hospitalization and Injuries. The father suffered severe burns to his arms while trying to rescue his daughter and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was placed on artificial ventilation. Thankfully, doctors were later able to stabilize his condition, and he is now breathing on his own, though he remains under medical care.
Sofia’s mother and brother were also hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. After receiving treatment, they were released a few days later and are now staying with relatives, trying to process the unimaginable loss they have endured.
