Your range hood filter is covered in grease. Here’s how to make it look spotless again with almost no effort.

• Hot water
• Baking soda
• Dish soap (degreasing works best)
• Large sink or basin
• Soft brush or gentle scrubber
• Gloves optional

Before You Start

Tap the filter gently over a trash can to remove loose debris.

Make Your Cleaning Solution

Fill your sink with hot water, add a big squirt of dish soap, then mix in ¼–½ cup of baking soda.

Soak the Filter

Let the filter soak for at least 30 minutes—longer if there’s heavy grease.

Scrub Gently

Use your soft brush to clean edges and corners where grease collects.

Rinse and Dry

Rinse under hot water and let the filter dry completely before putting it back.
